Why we build products, not just code
Selling a deployed product instead of a codebase changes everything about how you build - and what a customer actually gets.
For years we shipped custom builds - a repo, a handover call, and a client left holding software they couldn't maintain. It worked, but it wasn't good.
The shift
Now we sell the product. We deploy it, brand it for the client, keep it running, and stand behind it. The client gets a working system on day one, not a six-month project and a maintenance headache.
What changes when you build this way
- You design for the tenth customer, not the first. Configuration beats customisation.
- Onboarding is a feature, not an afterthought. A white-label installer that asks five questions is worth more than a wiki.
- Support and updates are the business, so the code has to be boring and stable.
That discipline is why the same salon system can be running in a dozen shops without a dozen forks.
